Automation is the Goal, Not AI.

VentureSource President Andy Levesque and Automatic Spring Vice-President Pete Westra agree: “Automation is the goal. AI is a tool.” They recently shared their thoughts on the topic as part of a S&P Global Automotive discussion.

Many organizations aren't looking for AI. They're looking for:

  • Less manual work

  • Faster processes

  • Better information flow

  • More consistent execution

AI can help achieve those outcomes, but it's not always the answer. In some cases, a simpler automation solution may deliver greater value with less complexity.

The real opportunity isn't adopting AI for the sake of AI.

It's identifying friction points, improving workflows, and automating processes in ways that help people work more efficiently.

Automation is the objective. AI is simply one of the tools available to get there.
